It is with excitement and profound gratitude that the Harvard Club of Boston invites you to a special fireside chat with David Deming, the newly appointed Danoff Dean of Harvard College, in conversation with HCB Vice President, Andy Freed '90 KS'94. This engaging event will not only give the Harvard community a chance to hear Dean Deming’s reflections on his journey, his vision for the College, and the transformative power of education - but also a glimpse into the person behind the title. Expect a conversation that reveals his passions, perspective, and personality in addition to his scholarship and leadership.

David Deming is one of the nation’s foremost scholars at the intersection of education, labor markets, and economic inequality. A professor at both the Harvard Kennedy School and the Harvard Graduate School of Education, and Faculty Dean of Kirkland House, Dean Deming’s work explores how education expands opportunity—particularly for low-income and first-generation students—and how institutions can better prepare students for a rapidly changing world of work.

He brings to this new role a deep commitment to student life, a passion for teaching and mentorship, and a record of innovative leadership across the University. Join us for a wide-ranging discussion on the future of Harvard College, intergenerational mobility, the role of AI in education and the economy, and what it means to build a truly inclusive academic community.

Appetizers and Cash Bar will be available.
