Join us for a captivating and inspiring panel discussion featuring an extraordinary lineup of figure skating legends moderated by Ron Kravette AM ‘06, this event will offer a rare glimpse into the careers and personal journeys of these legendary athletes, both on and off the ice.
- Tenley Albright MS ’61, five-time U.S. champion (1952-56), two-time World champion (1953, ’55), the 1952 Olympic silver medalist and the 1956 Olympic champion. She was the first U.S. woman to win a World figure skating title, and the first U.S. woman to win Olympic figure skating gold.
- Paul George ‘63, 1962 U.S. Junior Pair Champions

- Suna Murray ‘77, U.S. Championships Bronze Medalist (1971 & 1972), 1972 U.S. Olympic Team
- Misha Petkevich ’73, US Men’s Champion (1971), second in 1969, 1970, and 1972 and third in 1968. Competed at four World Championships.
- Paul Wylie ’91 MBA ’00, Olympic Silver Medalist, 1992; second place at the U.S. Figure Skating Championships in 1988, 1990, and 1992; U.S. junior pairs title (1980);U.S. junior title and World Junior Championships (1981).
As Boston prepares to welcome the World Figure Skating Championships back for the first time in nine years, this discussion will celebrate the sport’s deep legacy in the city and the athletes who have shaped it. These iconic athletes will share their unique experiences competing on the world’s biggest stages, from the Olympic Games to the World Championships. They’ll reflect on the triumphs, challenges, and defining moments of their careers - offering insight into the dedication, artistry, and resilience that propelled them to the pinnacle of figure skating. Central to the discussion is the panelists' deep ties to Harvard University and the Skating Club of Boston - two institutions that have played a significant role in their development, both as athletes and individuals. These connections have fostered a sense of community, camaraderie, and excellence that extends beyond the ice.
This promises to be an inspiring and emotional conversation, celebrating the enduring spirit of figure skating and the unbreakable bonds within its global community.
In addition to celebrating their achievements, the panel will honor the strength and unity of the skating community, particularly in light of the recent tragedy in Washington, D.C. They will reflect on the unwavering support and resilience that define the figure skating world, both in moments of victory and in times of profound loss.
